Citizens Project

For 32 years, Citizens Project has been a fierce advocate for equity, inclusion, and justice in the Pikes Peak region. As a nonpartisan organization, we believe that civic engagement is essential to the well-being of all communities. We collaborate with partners in traditionally marginalized communities to create representative legislation and foster public participation. Our efforts are concentrated in high-impact areas, with current initiatives focusing on Southeast Colorado Springs and youth.

Colorado Springs Festival of Lights

The Colorado Springs Festival of Lights Parade is a beloved 40-year holiday tradition, fully funded by a dedicated board of volunteers as well as grants, donations and sponsorships. It's completely FREE to the public and accessible to anyone in the community. The annual Parade brings together people from all walks of life to celebrate the holiday traditions that are most meaningful to their families and friends.

Friends of the Children – Colorado Springs

We provide paid, professional mentors, called Friends, to children starting between the ages of 4 and 6 and we stay with them for 12+ years until they graduate high school. These children, who have already faced significant adversity in their short lives, are guided to avoid the juvenile justice system, wait to parent until after their teen years, earn a high school diploma and go on to enroll in post-secondary education, serve our country or enter the workforce with a living wage job.

Help Autism Center

Since 2005, Help Autism Center has helped families with autism and other disabilities, find the resources for services and therapies. The Help Autism Service Dogs program provides service dogs at no cost to the families, and will improve their quality of life.

Pikes Peak Bulletin

The Pikes Peak Bulletin has been serving Manitou Springs, in several iterations, since 1918. The newly-revived Bulletin was established in April 2023 as a nonprofit community newspaper – a growing trend as small, local papers seek to stay in circulation. Our coverage was expanded to include Old Colorado City, Manitou Springs, Downtown Colorado Springs and the Lower Ute Pass. It is our mission to create a sustainable, community-powered, local news source on issues that impact our coverage area.

From a small reading room established 136 years ago, PPLD has evolved to meet the ever-changing needs of our sprawling and growing community. The Library cultivates spaces for belonging, personal growth, and strong communities via 15 facilities, three mobile library services, and a large online hub of resources and services that are inclusive and welcoming to all.

Teller Senior Coalition

Teller Senior Coalition provides services to Teller County senior citizens to enable them to live healthy, active, and independent lives. We support our mission by delivering meals, providing transportation to medical appointments including persons in wheelchairs, making home safety modifications, assisting caregivers, providing homemaking services, case management, and social activities and trips. TSC also provides public bus routes in Teller County where other public transportation is minimal.

The Arc-PPR has been a part of the Pikes Peak region for 69 years, protecting the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), promoting quality of life for all people, and helping people with IDD reach their dreams and achieve their goals through exceptional advocacy and a fundamental belief in everyone’s ability to thrive. We empower individuals with IDD to step confidently into the spotlight, fostering inclusivity, and the celebration of all abilities.

Westside CARES

Westside CARES is neighbors helping neighbors. It prevents homelessness through food, clothing, laundry, healthcare, ID cards, mail, utilities, or rent assistance; and it supports people experiencing homelessness in achieving housing, work, and health goals. Each year the nearly 22,000 neighbors we serve can rely on a safe space, where everyone is valued, to access the services they need to overcome financial setbacks and achieve their goals.
