At Hey Neighbor, we are working to build a future where everyone loves their neighborhood. We focus on community-building and civic education to inspire neighbors to create vibrant communities. Our programs help neighbors make connections, build relationships, and become changemakers in their communities.
In an increasingly divided nation, during an epidemic of loneliness and isolation, and at a time when public safety units are overwhelmed, community connection is more important now than ever. When neighbors feel safe, welcomed, and supported, they build vibrant communities where anything is possible. Our civic education program provides education and support to help make their neighborhood dreams become a reality.
We strive to keep Neighborhood University a cost-free civic education program, expand neighborhood storytelling through videos that inspire action, grow our network of Neighborhood Leaders, and fund mini-grants enabling neighbors to host block parties and events that bring communities together.
Lack of connection can increase the risk for premature death to levels comparable to smoking 15 cigarettes a day! Knowing your neighbors is one of the easiest ways to increase your connections.
