Ahavah Community Initiative

Founded April 2018, our mission is to connect people who are facing food insecurity due to financial struggles to locally-farmed, regeneratively-grown produce and to provide education centered around healthy living and environmental consciousness. We fulfill this mission by donating freshly harvested, regeneratively-grown produce to families in need through a weekly vegetable subscription. Memberships include a weekly bag of locally-grown produce along with free farm tours, classes and events.

All Breed Rescue & Training

All Breed Rescue & Training has been an integral part of the community since 1996. We ONLY rescue and rehabilitate LOCAL at-risk dogs who often have no options left. Our Best of the Springs winning training services give our foster dogs a new leash on life. Hundreds of other dogs from our community every year benefit from our relationship-based training programs, many of whom utilizing free or reduced cost services.

Benefits in Action

Benefits in Action (BIA) is the trusted organization for comprehensive food and health-related benefits application assistance and program navigation. In 2023, BIA assisted over 20,000 individuals. Benefits in Actions provides expert application assistance for Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) formerly known as Food Stamps, Cash Assistance, Connect 4 Health Colorado, Medicare and Medicare related programs, taxes, and more, at no cost to the clients we assist.

Blackpackers

Blackpackers addresses underrepresentation and economic vulnerability in outdoor spaces through these missions: We provide access to gear, excursions, and educational opportunities at no or subsidized cost. A key initiative is B.O.S.S. (Blackpackers Outdoor Skills School), equipping participants with essential outdoor skills. We also connect participants with volunteer opportunities, internships, jobs, and post-secondary education resources, creating pathways to careers in the outdoor industry. Our mission is two-fold: 1. To provide gear, outdoor excursions and outdoor education for free or at subsidized cost. 2. To connect participants with volunteer opportunities, internships, jobs, and post-secondary education resources to create a pipeline from outdoor recreation to outdoor industry careers. In these ways, we can create economic equity in outdoor recreation.

CASA of the Pikes Peak Region

CASA of the Pikes Peak Region exists to change the lives of children who have been victims of child abuse or neglect. One of CASA's programs is called Milton Foster Children's Fund (MFCF) and this program provides foster youth with resources not offered by other local agencies. These resources include extracurricular activities (like camps and lessons), scholarships, life skills workshops, free clothing, and work experience at The Hanger to help build self-esteem and resiliency.

As a nonpartisan organization, we believe that civic engagement is essential to the well-being of all communities. Our efforts are concentrated in high-impact areas, with current initiatives focusing on Southeast Colorado Springs and youth.

Code4Outdoor is dedicated to promoting and improving the mental resiliency and well-being of 1st responders through outdoor activities such as bicycling, climbing, and hiking. We recognize the challenges and emotional strains faced by these brave individuals and firmly believe that engaging in epic events, created and executed by our team of like-minded individuals, enables 1st responders to build a strong support network and becomes a powerful tool in fostering their overall wellness.
