When cancer hits below the belt, Sue’s Gift is here to help! We provide financial and emotional support for people facing a gynecologic cancer diagnosis. Our Financial Assistance Program helps pay bills during treatment. Our Peer Support Program trains and empowers survivors to be mentors to newly diagnosed patients with the same cancer type. We also provide chemo support bags, celebrations of survivorship, respite events for caretakers and patients, community building, and we raise awareness.
Studies have shown that people facing a cancer diagnosis have better survival outcomes and a lower risk of developing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder after treatment if they have emotional, financial, and social support during their cancer journey. Sue’s Gift provides this level of vital support for people facing gynecologic cancer statewide!
Our goals for 2025 are to be able to support 90 patients with our Financial Assistance Program, to train 5 new mentors for our Peer Support Program and to provide 400 chemo support bags for newly diagnosed patients.
There are 7 different cancer types of gynecologic cancer: Ovarian, fallopian tube, uterine/endometrial, cervical, vaginal, vulvar, and peritoneal. Sue’s Gift has a peer mentor for each diagnosis.
“I have received many 'presents' from Sue’s Gift: empowerment, knowledge, purpose, courage, joy, and camaraderie. The Sue’s Gift organization completely changed the direction of my cancer journey.” — Bonnie G - Ovarian cancer stage 2B survivor
