NMDR rescues retired breeding dogs from across the country and provides medical care, rehabilitation, and adoption to loving homes. We have rescued over 20,000 dogs since 2007! Our main facility is in Peyton, and we recently expanded to Missouri with “Dogsville,” a hub that enables collaboration with East Coast partners and serves as a stop for our rescue teams. NMDR relies on individual contributions and small grants, making your support vital. Together, we can change lives, one dog at a time.
Our mission is rooted in compassion and the desire to bring hope to dogs who have endured unimaginable hardships. Many of these dogs have spent their lives in breeding facilities, without knowing the love and care of a proper home. We believe that every dog deserves a chance at a better life, one filled with comfort, safety, and companionship.
We not only save lives through our rescue efforts, but also work to educate the community on the importance of humane treatment and the responsibilities of pet ownership. We hope to reach more people interested in getting involved with NMDR in Colorado Springs so we can continue to make an impact.
Did you know that there are estimated to be over 10,000 puppy mills in the United States? Shockingly, less than 3,000 of these are regulated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
“We adopted 3 and 1 half years ago. A precious Maltese we call Gracie. She is the light of our lives. This rescue is amazing. I would hope that everyone would check this rescue out. They do amazing things!” — Tracey D via Google
