Sometimes the best way to help a child is to support their caregiver. Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains’ KPC Family Resource Center in Colorado Springs provides free respite childcare and case management support to families, giving parents and caregivers a safe place to turn during crises or before challenges become crises. By reducing stress and strengthening families, KPC helps children stay safe, healthy, and connected to their families and communities.
We believe strong families build strong communities. By providing free respite childcare and case management support for parents and caregivers at KPC, we help reduce stress, prevent crises, and create safe, stable environments where children can thrive. Access to this support strengthens families, promotes child well-being, and helps our community flourish for generations to come.
Our dream is to secure stable funding to expand the small staff at KPC. We aspire to serve more children, parents, and caregivers so no family has to wait for help during difficult times. Staff funding is the biggest limitation on the impact we can make. Every donation makes a difference!
More than 1 in 3 U.S. children will experience a child protective services investigation before turning 18. KPC helps families build stability and support before a crisis occurs.
“KPC was there when I had nowhere to turn. The childcare and support they provided gave me the time and resources I needed to secure benefits, find housing, and create a safe future for my daughter and me.” — Anonymous client served by KPC
