The Energy Resource Center’s mission is to foster a sustainable future for Colorado by enhancing home energy efficiency, environmental comfort, promoting health and strengthening communities. ERC operates at the intersection of affordable housing, utility savings, environmental considerations, home comfort, and health and safety.
Our work benefits communities by improving energy efficiency, which lowers utility bills and reduces housing costs. We make homes more comfortable with better insulation, high-efficiency furnaces and more. We address health and safety issues like carbon monoxide and faulty water heaters. Weatherization measures installed continue to save money and energy over time, freeing up funds for other life essentials.
We are the only organization offering these valuable services at no cost in the Pikes Peak region. With thousands of households eligible for this work, our goal is to match funding to households that need the help and perform the work with our expertise.
Low-income households carry a larger burden for energy costs, typically spending 13.9% of total annual income versus 3.0% for other households.
“On behalf of myself and my children, I want to extend my deepest gratitude for the incredible gift you have given to my family. We are beyond thankful for everyone in helping make our home safer, more comfortable, and more energy efficient. It is a gift we will never forget.” — Anonymous single mother
