At Concrete Couch, we bring people together and turn strangers into friends. Through public art, hands-on learning, and meaningful cultural events, we create opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to connect, learn, create, and contribute. We strengthen neighborhoods, build skills, celebrate culture, and—most importantly—have a whole lot of fun doing it. We build community.
The strength and resilience of a community grow from people who are connected to one another and invested in the well-being of their neighbors. At Concrete Couch, we envision a Pikes Peak region where people foster a deep sense of love, respect, and belonging; where everyone feels valued, welcomed, and safe; and where neighbors come together to support one another in times of need.
That’s why we build community through creative, collaborative projects that bring people together, strengthen relationships, and transform the places we call home.
Ensure Concrete Couch’s summer camps remain free and accessible to families while reaching hundreds of children across multiple summer camps in Colorado Springs. Through hands-on creative experiences, we want to help young people learn new skills, build relationships, discover their potential, and strengthen their connection to their community.
Our Goals & Intended Impact
1. Keep Summer Camps Free
Ensure cost is not a barrier for families who want their children to participate in enriching summer experiences.
Impact: More children can access meaningful summer activities regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.
2. Reach Hundreds of Children
Offer multiple summer camps that serve hundreds of local children through creative, educational, and hands-on activities.
Impact: More youth have opportunities to learn, explore new interests, and stay engaged in positive experiences throughout the summer.
3. Inspire Creativity and Learning
Provide opportunities for children to explore art, building, nature, and other creative projects while developing practical skills.
Impact: Children gain confidence, discover new talents, and learn through experimentation, problem-solving, and creative expression.
4. Build Friendships and Community
Bring children together to collaborate, share ideas, and work alongside artists, educators, volunteers, and community members.
Impact: Youth develop teamwork and communication skills while building friendships and a stronger sense of belonging.
5. Create Lasting Community Impact
Use summer camps to connect young people with their community and encourage them to see themselves as creative contributors who can make a difference.
