We connect, advocate, and lead efforts to strengthen outdoor recreation in the Pikes Peak region. Through partnerships, community engagement, and strategic planning, we support a vibrant outdoor economy, protect natural resources, and expand access for all. From convening industry leaders to engaging the public, we work to ensure the outdoors is a lasting force for health, equity, and sustainability.
Outdoor recreation is vital to our region’s economy, quality of life, and identity. By protecting access and supporting the industry, we help ensure that everyone, now and in the future, can enjoy the health, community, and environmental benefits of the outdoors.
With full funding, we’ll expand access to the outdoors, implement key vision plan actions, grow our events, and support youth, veterans, and underserved communities. We’ll also strengthen partnerships and advocate for policies that protect and enhance outdoor recreation.
In 2024, Colorado Springs residents made 22 million park and trail visits, worth an estimated $91.6 million in recreational value!
“PPORA has built a truly massive network of businesses, nonprofits, and government entities, all focused on improving and enhancing the outdoors for our community. The places we go for recreation and retreat are better off due to PPORA. Thank you!” — Sam Hinkle - Rocky Mountain Field Institute
