Families today are more disconnected than ever. Teens face rising anxiety and isolation, while parents struggle to find meaningful time together. Colorado Youth Outdoors – Colorado Springs reconnects families through traditional outdoor recreation like archery, fishing, and shooting sports. Our 12-week PACD program (Participate, Appreciate, Communicate, Dedicate) builds trust, communication, and lasting family bonds—strengthening relationships and community well-being.
In a world pulling families apart, we bring them back together. In El Paso County, 1 in 4 families lacks outdoor access, and most youth spend less than 40 minutes a week outside. Colorado Youth Outdoors offers family-centered programs that reduce stress, improve health, and strengthen relationships. After one season, 85% report better communication—endorsed by El Paso County Commissioner.
Every $300 raised helps a local family access our 12-week CORE program. In 2026, we aim to fund at least 100 scholarships, giving families the chance to grow stronger through the outdoors. Help us reach our $30,000+ goal and invest in what matters: lasting relationships.
Kids spend less than 10% of their time outdoors, but 85% of CORE families report stronger communication after just one season outside together.
“In the modern-day world, there are so many distractions on our time and that of our kids. It's really healthy to put all that down for a few hours each week and focus on each other and an activity outdoors.” — Brian Dreher, CORE parent
