Code4Outdoor is dedicated to supporting first responders by helping them find resilience and connection in the outdoors. Through epic adventures like climbing, cycling, hiking and skiing, we create experiences that reduce stress, strengthen peer support, and build lasting community. Our mission is to give back to the people who protect and serve us every day by offering them a way to recharge and reconnect.
First responders give everything to protect us, often at the cost of their own mental and physical well-being. At Code4Outdoor, we create events and activities in the outdoors where they can breathe, heal, and connect. Our ‘why” is simple: because the people who answer our calls for help deserve a community that answers theirs
After an incredible year of unforgettable adventures, Code4Outdoor is gearing up for an even bigger 2026! From mountain biking in Fruita to canyoneering in Zion National Park, hiking Colorado’s highest peak, and cycling in Durango, we have a full lineup of life-changing experiences ahead!
In 2019, a record 228 current and former law enforcement officers died by suicide nationwide, including 12 in Colorado. In that same year, 3 police officers died in the line of duty.
“Outdoor exercise and activity has impacted all areas of my life, from physical and mental well-being, to emotional resilience and even spiritual growth. Code4Outdoor has recognized the importance of outdoor adventure for both personal health and social growth for the first responder community.” — Michael M. CSFD Firefighter
