Wild Connections is a science-based conservation nonprofit operating in the Pikes Peak region. We identify and protect the area’s last remaining core wild areas and the critical corridors linking them. Our efforts focus on reconnecting essential public lands, restoring wildlife habitats, and community education. These initiatives allow wildlife to move freely, preserve rare plant communities, and maintain essential resources for both animals and local residents, ensuring the ecological health of our treasured wildlands for generations to come.
Our work is crucial for environmental health, wildlife and community well-being in the Pikes Peak Region. Protecting these lands ensures species survival, clean water, and ecological balance. Conserving wildlands safeguards resources for future generations. We restore damaged wetlands, high-biodiversity areas, and wildlife habitats, focusing on connecting fragmented landscapes.
1. Develop partnerships for educational events, fostering community engagement with Central Colorado’s ecosystems.
2. Strengthen leadership by recruiting diverse board members.
3. Increase support through targeted outreach, donor appreciation, and volunteer opportunities.
For nearly 30 years we’ve protected Central Colorado’s roadless lands, securing 300,000+ acres and 60 river miles in BLM’s 2024 Plan and expanding roadless areas by 100,000+ acres for the future.
“I volunteer with Wild Connections because I love Colorado's outdoors. They work to keep wild places safe and beautiful for us, future generations, and the animals that call them home.” — Tori, Volunteer
