Pikes Peak Library District Foundation is devoted to supporting literacy throughout El Paso County and to fulfill the needs of Pikes Peak Library District. In 2025 PPLD Foundation helped support the purchase of Ruth Holley and Ute Pass Library with a million-dollar gift to ensure long term sustainability in those communities. We are here to ensure PPLD continues to grow and reach every person in El Paso County.
Every person in El Paso County deserves to have access to their local Library and enrich their lives in whichever way possible. From books, programs, sewing classes, free printing, meeting spaces, 3D printers, recording studios, GED classes, laser engraving, and more PPLD has all the resources to enrich your life.
PPLDF supports improving literacy throughout El Paso County. For example, PPLD will implementing hybrid-access models for three libraries this year to expand their hours of service as well as support the purchasing of libraries to ensure PPLD is here for generations to come.
1 in 6 adults in the U.S. are functionally illiterate. In El Paso County 14% of people (105,388) are at or below Level 1 Literacy.
