Celebrating 35 years, Ormao Dance nurtures connection, creativity, and confidence through a non-competitive school, a professional dance company, and community programs like Dance for Parkinson’s, Hillside Elder Dancers, and Hands Are for Holding®. We use movement and the artistry of modern contemporary dance to inspire belonging, well-being, and delight for people of all ages and abilities in our community.
At Ormao Dance, our purpose is to nurture joy, connection, and expression through movement. We’re building a more compassionate and creative community where everyone—regardless of age, background, or ability—can belong, grow, and be inspired. Dance is how we come together, heal, and celebrate being human. Making Dances|Building Community
In a continuing effort to make dance accessible to our community, we are building up our student sponsorship program (available for all ages). Also, we will be launching new community dance projects like the Union Printer’s Home collaboration where we bridge history and the future through movement.
For 35 years, Ormao Dance has enriched Colorado Springs through a professional company, non-competitive school, and programs reaching 5,000+ youth and adults annually.
“Grateful for how Ormao has been foundational in my life. In a time where the world may feel tumultuous or disconnected, in their 35th anniversary year, make this the year that you sign up for a class or go see a performance that continues to bring real, human connection and art to our community.” — Celeste Edwards
